Geotube® Geocontainment Technology

Geotube® geocontainment technology has protected shorelines, rebuilt beaches, and reclaimed land from the sea. This technology was developed over 45 years ago to stop storm damage, protect the environment, build custom structures, and even form islands where they did not exist before. This technology is not only proven, but also cost-effective. Developed in conjunction with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Geotube® geocontainment technology is durable, custom designed, easy to install, and highly flexible. It is currently installed in over 50 countries around the world.

Geotube® GC Geocontainment Technology

GeotubeŽ GC geocontainment technology consists of a very large geotextile bag hydraulically filled with soil before placement into the water. Formation, transportation, and installation of the GeotubeŽ GC geocontainment technology takes place on a split bottom hopper barge. The GeotubeŽ GC geocontainer is custom made to fit the barge, and once the geocontainer is filled on the barge, the openings are sewn shut and reinforced with rope ties. The barge moves to the desired location and drops the container, which settles to the bottom. Installation takes place in water depths over 15 feet and with high accuracy. These geocontainers are made to withstand the test of time and the furry of water, with unique fabric structures that are tough, yet flexible. GeotubeŽ GB geocontainment technology consists of a geotextile container filled with soil and installed for construction of marine and hydraulic structures. GeotubeŽ GB geocontainment technology is custom made and available in various forms and sizes to suit design and installation requirements. Installation can take place on land or in the water. GeotubeŽ GB geocontainment technology functions for confinement and erosion protection.
