SLOPE  REINFORCEMENT   &  RETAINING  WALLS

The Miragrid® XT geogrids are used for reinforcing modular block walls and slope reinforcement systems. Miragrid® XT products provide the highest long-term design strengths of any geogrid in the industry. These highly durable polyester geogrids provide excellent creep resistance and high strengths developed from a unique weaving process. TenCate Mirafi has engineers on staff that can help an engineer choose which XT geogrid would be suitable for your application.

TenCate Miramesh® GR is a biaxial geosynthetic used in wire walls and green slope applications. Miramesh® is a green open mesh geosynthetic designed specifically to be a face wrap for steepened slope applications. When used in conjunction with welded wire forms, the Miramesh® can be incorporated in the design of a green-faced vegetated stepped wall system.

Presto Geoweb® earth retention system utilizes the same cellular confinement system discussed earlier in this presentation. A Geoweb® retaining wall offers many benefits, such as desirable aesthetics and the ease to transport and construct in difficult locations. Geoweb® will not degrade like the timber based, concrete or steel wall systems. The multilayer Geoweb® system features horizontal terraces with exposed outer fascia cells creating a natural environment for sustainable vegetation. Presto Products will provide a preliminary design for all of their products at no charge.

Maccaferri Gabions are rectangular baskets made of heavy galvanized and PVC coated double twisted steel woven wire mesh. These single unit constructed baskets are laced together and filled with stone to create retaining walls, weir structures and channel linings. The gabion baskets are an environmentally friendly system with the voids of the rock becoming progressively filled with silt, promoting vegetation growth. The Maccaferri Gabions are typically the system of choice when dealing with stream and channel projects in densely populated areas where a more natural look is desired over that of steel or concrete sheet piles.

Foresight Products’ MANTA RAY Earth Anchor Systems are complimentary product to many of the retaining wall systems we offer. These anchors can be driven into the ground to the desired depth with no disturbance or displacement of the soils. MANTA RAY anchors are available for working loads from 2,000 lbs to 40,000 lbs. The anchor is pulled upon to reach the holding capacity required which is measured by a gauge on the “ANCHOR LOCKER”. Each anchor is immediately proof loaded to the exact capacity required. No other system offers this feature.
