Geotextile Tubes for Lake Embankment

Geotextile tubes are a low-cost alternative to conventional erosion control methods for restoring and protecting embankments. Constructed with high-strength UV resistant fabric, geotextile tubes are manufactured in varying sizes to fit specific jobsite conditions. Openings are sized appropriately so that they may be pumped with onsite dredged or sand material, while allowing water to permeate through the tube wall. The geotextile tube lake embankment system, unlike rock riprap is meant to be buried and revegetated for a natural look, making it virtually invisible.

The tube is placed at the toe of the embankment where erosion occurs. Excavation of the area may be required to meet the desired finished elevation of the installed tube. Choose from a variety of styles and specifications to meet your needs.
